Producer / Receiver, 2022

Producer / Receiver began as an experiment to make an adjustable armature so that the receptors could be positioned according to the sun’s arc. She turned out to be more of an exploration of shadows - an absence of light.

Many of the pieces in this series include their own light source, but this one does not. Light and shadow have become increasingly important to me in recent work; light can create illusions of connection and coherence in a way that materials cannot.
