Spalted Maple Platter

Height: .75"

Width: 11.5"

An especially nice log produced a few leftover thinner pieces after I cut my bowl blanks from it, so I decided to make this platter. It came out well, and this shape really showed off some of the features in the wood nicely. You might be tempted to use this like a cheeseboard, but I wouldn’t recommend that. The spalted wood is a bit soft for that kind of wear and tear. This is the plate you want for carrot sticks. Peppers. Cucumbers. Some crusty bread.
